Join Keynsham & Saltford Local History Society to find out more about your area
Since the Society was formed in 1965, research has been continuously carried out into every aspect of the history of Keynsham & Saltford. Our main object has been to produce the results of this research by publishing as much as possible in order for the information to be available to the wider community.
This has involved many hours of transcribing primary sources from documents and papers held in the Somerset Record Office, the main source for Keynsham and Saltford history, as well as many other avenues of research.
Now that family history has become such an absorbing activity for so many people, we are now receiving a significant number of enquiries in that direction, particularly from people in the beginning stages of their research.
We can help with identification of dwellings and roads etc., in the Census Returns and have become familiar with many of the family surnames that are well documented in a variety of sources.
